Hello. I’m glad you’re here.
nice to virtually meet you!
MY SPECIALTIES
-
Treatment begins by understanding your specific anxiety symptoms, triggers, and how anxiety manifests in your life. This may involve discussing past experiences, current stressors, and your goals for therapy. Part of the assessment will include understanding the root cause of the anxiety.
Depending on your unique situation, we may use relaxation techniques, CBT, IFS, hypnotherapy, behavioral strategies, education, support and validation; EMDR and KAP for complex trauma... which will lead us to our ultimate goal: to empower you with tools and strategies that promote self-efficacy and enable you to manage anxiety effectively.

As a certified Grief Recovery Specialist, I first and foremost consider each individual's unique beliefs and experience with loss. The process is not about forcing anything but meeting you where you are. We will then guide you through a gentle, time-limited, step-by-step protocol, ensuring you feel supported and not overwhelmed. If there is any trauma associated with the loss, we may consider incorporating EMDR.
-
Complex trauma differs from single-event trauma in that it often stems from prolonged or repeated interpersonal trauma. My approach typically involves the following key elements: Safety and stabilization, EMDR, emotional regulation, attachment repair, Internal Family Systems, integration and meaning-making, and sometimes Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP).

(disclaimer: I do not provide or prescribe psychedelic substances, nor do I encourage the use of illegal substances.)
That said, psychedelic harm reduction and integration are approaches aimed at promoting safe and meaningful experiences with psychedelic substances, such as LSD, psilocybin (magic mushrooms), MDMA (ecstasy), or ketamine.
Harm Reduction: Harm reduction focuses on minimizing potential risks associated with psychedelic use while acknowledging that you may still choose to use these substances. Key principles include:
Education: Providing accurate information about the effects, risks, and proper use of psychedelics to empower you to make informed decisions.
Safer Use Practices: Encouraging responsible dosing, testing substances for purity (if possible), and ensuring a secure and comfortable setting (set and setting) for the experience.
Supportive Environment: Offering non-judgmental support and guidance before, during, and after your psychedelic experience, emphasizing physical and emotional safety.
Integration of Experiences: Helping you reflect on and integrate your psychedelic experiences into your daily life, promoting personal growth, and addressing challenges or insights.
Integration: Integration focuses on making sense of and applying insights from psychedelic experiences to one's life. This process often involves:
Reflection: Encouraging you to reflect on your psychedelic journey, exploring emotions, thoughts, and experiences that emerged during the session.
Application: Supporting you in translating psychedelic insights into actionable steps for personal growth, healing, or making positive life changes.
Support: Providing ongoing support and resources, including therapy, peer support groups, or mindfulness practices, to help you navigate and integrate profound or challenging experiences.
Normalization: Recognizing that integration is a gradual process, I help you normalize your experiences, reducing stigma and promoting emotional well-being.
Both harm reduction and integration emphasize safety, respect for personal autonomy, and the therapeutic potential of psychedelics when used mindfully and responsibly. I aim to foster a supportive environment where you can explore consciousness, enhance self-awareness, and cultivate positive life changes.
I provide a balanced and supportive framework for individuals interested in or exploring psychedelic experiences, promoting safety, mindfulness, and personal growth.

Psychotherapy focusing on relationships often incorporates attachment theory and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to explore and heal relational dynamics:
Attachment Theory: Based on the idea that early caregiving experiences shape our attachment styles, I use attachment theory help you understand how these styles influence current relationships. The goal is to develop secure attachments by addressing patterns of anxious, avoidant, or disorganized attachment through exploration and corrective emotional experiences.
Internal Family Systems (IFS): This approach views individuals as a system of sub-personalities or "parts," each with its own feelings, needs, and beliefs. I use IFS help you identify and communicate with these parts to understand how they influence relationships. By fostering self-awareness and compassionately integrating parts, you can achieve greater harmony and authenticity in their connections.
In therapy, these frameworks and others are used collaboratively to explore and transform relational patterns, enhancing your ability to form healthier, more fulfilling connections with themselves and others.

Journey Clinical will provide psychiatric assessment, prescription, and medication, while I provide the 3 hour psychotherapeutic dosing session, and we can decide together if you'd also like to work with me for preparation, harm-reduction, and integration.
